Choir Class Lists AND Scholarship Results 2021-2022

PLEASE READ THIS PRIOR TO VIEWING NEXT SCHOOL YEARS CHOIR LISTS AS WELL AS SCHOLARSHIP RESULTS. THE LISTS ARE NOW PUBLISHED HERE (located at the bottom of this post).

PLEASE BE CAREFUL: Soon the choir lists and scholarship recipients list will be posted. Please make good decisions about using technology to share your emotions! Sharing your happy or sad thoughts (excited or angry thoughts) can be very dangerous to your relationships with your friends in the Performing Arts Department, as well as your future in the Choir and Theater Department.

If you don’t make the choir that you have been hoping for or don’t get a scholarship, please take some time away from your phone and your computer. ALSO, if you DO get in the choir that you have been hoping for or earn a scholarship, be careful of what you put into print! You could easily crush a friend if they didn’t get in the choir of their dreams or didn’t receive a scholarship. Be conscious and caring about your relationships with your friends. If you spew poison on Instagram, SnapChat, Twitter, Facebook, group texts, or other social media, know in advance that you will be burning many bridges. THINK – WAIT and then respond. This is written with love from your Performing Arts Staff! This IS NOT the end of the world.

I’d like to thank JaiLynn and Mrs. Twining, who both worked very hard with me in preparing these lists.  These were extremely difficult lists to make in many ways.  We angested over every single person and decision, sometimes for weeks! Please understand that if you feel some disappointment because you do not make it into the choir that you dreamed or didn’t receive the scholarship you really wanted, we sympathize with you.  We have had this experience too from time to time, so we do feel for you.  The good news is, you are still in choir–no one can take that away from you (well–occasionally we do, but it’s rare!)

We ask that you trust in us to have made the best decisions for you and the choir and also know that these decisions are made on so much more than just how well you sing.  These lists were VERY difficult to make and we realize that no matter what we do, we cannot satisfy everyone’s desires. If you did make it where you wanted to be Congratulations! Now the hard work begins!

Former Penguin Project mentors have sung the praises of the program for the past three years and lauded it as a rewarding and life-changing experience.

APPLICATIONS DUE BY THIS SATURDAY! Want to study private voice (FOR FREE) or lower the cost of a summer music camp next year? It’s super easy this year to apply (no outside audition required)! Just fill out the form below, indicating your interest. The music staff will then select the candidates with the best fit.
We are looking for enthusiastic students who have a desire to grow as singers and who we believe will work hard! If you receive a scholarship, you will be required to attend either musical theater or classical MSVMA Solo and Ensemble. But that’s cool though, as you can get additional feedback! The deadline to apply is by Saturday at midnight!

UPDATE-LAST MINUTE POP DVD ORDERS: If you have an order, with payment, I can take it today and add it to the count that I called in yesterday.

REMINDER! We will continue to collect all of your sheet music today. If you did not bring your folder, please bring it to class on your exam day or stop by and drop it off! Thanks!
