This class is open to any current sophomore or junior and is based on teaching the core principles of music theory. If you’re passionate about music, this is a perfect class for you! NEW! OTHER CLASS SCHEDULING NOTES: When scheduling your classes for next year, if you going to take CHOIR again, please sign up for the class that you are currently in. After auditions, we will submit updated class rosters for the next school year and the counseling office will move students as needed to the various choirs.  Thanks!
NEW! Countdown to turn in your sheet music to JaiLynn…5 school days (until Friday, Jan. 31st)!
REMINDER! MUSICAL THEATRE CABARET! This will be a Coffee House type of concert performed black box on the stage. Songs must be from a musical and auditions are open to everyone!
You will be performing only 60 seconds max at your audition, and costumes are encouraged but not required. Acts are limited to 4 people max.
No tracks are allowed, which, for most people, means that JaiLynn will be playing for you. In order to sign up for an audition, you must have the sheet music for your song, with the 60 second audition cut marked, to her by January 31. Rehearsals for auditions will take place during February, and auditions will be on Thursday, February 20th after school. The performance will be on Thursday, February 27th. Cabaret poster (1) to view the poster!

UPDATED!  We are thrilled to announce the the incredible Trevor Miles will be your masterclass instructor. Trevor has taught multiple workshops for us and always receives RAVE reviews! 

TREVOR MILES is from Coos Bay, Oregon and began his dance training at the Pacific School of Dance at age 17, under the direction of Christine Rader and Connie Hogge. He has studied on scholarship at the American Ballet Theater in New York, as well as Milwaukee Ballet in Wisconsin. Miles attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, where he performed works by Ohad Naharin, Pat Hon, and Timothy Lynch. While in Seattle he also danced as a company member with Ashani Dances, under Artistic Director, Iyun Harrison. While in New York he has danced as a member of Ballet Hispanico Dos, Peridance, and most recently has been a guest artist with the Company of Dance Arts. His favorite theater credits include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Oklahoma!, at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater. Recently Trevor was in a production of Let There Be Light at NYSummerfest Theater Festival, where it won the award for Best Play/Musical. Trevor can currently be seen touring the nation with the Hamilton Philip Company.

 

REMINDER! On January 25th, RP Theatre will be hosting a Triple Threat Workshop with a Cast Member from the Broadway smash hit, Hamilton.

This workshop is open to students from all area schools, ages 10-18.
Here are the details:
Hamilton Triple Threat Workshop:
  • Saturday, January 25th
  • 8AM-11:30AM
  • Rocket Center for the Arts
  • The workshop will cover: an hour of singing, an hour of dancing, and hour of acting with a 30-minute Q&A/Autograph Session to conclude!

  • $60 per participant
  • Anyone 10-18 years old may attend. Space is limited!!

Here is the schedule and relevant details: 

  • Please let me know if there is additional or different equipment/setup that you will need.  If it is not on the sheet, it will not happen!
  • Please remember that all solo acts should have a piano accompaniment.
  • Your family or friends are welcome to be in the auditorium to listen to you perform.
  • The time listed is your performance time.  Please plan to arrive early to warm up.  We will be using the orchestra room and dressing rooms for warm up.
  • Comment forms will be available the next day from your director.

As your passports come in, you will need to go back to the Cultural Tour Consultants web page and update your information record, to now include your passport numbers and expiration dates. The company informed me yesterday that we  are still missing a lot of these! While on the site, they have also requested that you check your names to make sure the names you submitted on the original enrollment matches the way the name is spelled on your passport exactly (including middle name). IMPORTANT REMINDER: If you have not yet applied for your passport, you should do so immediately! REMINDER! Are you participating in our awesome scrip program? You can raise lots of money doing so and use that money for many things school related. No need to sell or buy anything (just purchase gift cards from us and use them to pay  just about anywhere and watch your kid’s account grow! Below is the most current scip form detailing what businesses have scrip and what percentage they give back to your account.

2019-2020 HOURS: School Year Scrip Hours are every Thursday evening from 5:15pm-6:30pm in the front lobby of the High School, beginning September 4th.

TREVOR MILES is from Coos Bay, Oregon and began his dance training at the Pacific School of Dance at age 17, under the direction of Christine Rader and Connie Hogge. He has studied on scholarship at the American Ballet Theater in New York, as well as Milwaukee Ballet in Wisconsin. Miles attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, where he performed works by Ohad Naharin, Pat Hon, and Timothy Lynch. While in Seattle he also danced as a company member with Ashani Dances, under Artistic Director, Iyun Harrison. While in New York he has danced as a member of Ballet Hispanico Dos, Peridance, and most recently has been a guest artist with the Company of Dance Arts. His favorite theater credits include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Oklahoma!, at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater. Recently Trevor was in a production of Let There Be Light at NYSummerfest Theater Festival, where it won the award for Best Play/Musical. Trevor can currently be seen touring the nation with the Hamilton Philip Company.

 

REMINDER! On January 25th, RP Theatre will be hosting a Triple Threat Workshop with a Cast Member from the Broadway smash hit, Hamilton.

This workshop is open to students from all area schools, ages 10-18.
Here are the details:
Hamilton Triple Threat Workshop:
  • Saturday, January 25th
  • 8AM-11:30AM
  • Rocket Center for the Arts
  • The workshop will cover: an hour of singing, an hour of dancing, and hour of acting with a 30-minute Q&A/Autograph Session to conclude!

  • $60 per participant
  • Anyone 10-18 years old may attend. Space is limited!!

  • Please remember that all solo acts should have a piano accompaniment.
  • Your family or friends are welcome to be in the auditorium to listen to you perform.
  • The time listed is your performance time.  Please plan to arrive early to warm up.  We will be using the orchestra room and dressing rooms for warm up.

REMINDER!! As scheduling season approaches, consider signing up for AP Music Theory! This class is open to any current sophomore or junior and is based on teaching the core principles of music theory. If you’re passionate about music, this is a perfect class for you! UPDATED!  We are thrilled to announce the the incredible Trevor Miles will be your masterclass instructor. Trevor has taught multiple workshops for us and always receives RAVE reviews!

REMINDER! MUSICAL THEATRE CABARET! This will be a Coffee House type of concert performed black box on the stage. Songs must be from a musical and auditions are open to everyone!
You will be performing only 60 seconds max at your audition, and costumes are encouraged but not required. Acts are limited to 4 people max.
No tracks are allowed, which, for most people, means that JaiLynn will be playing for you. In order to sign up for an audition, you must have the sheet music for your song, with the 60 second audition cut marked, to her by January 31. Rehearsals for auditions will take place during February, and auditions will be on Thursday, February 20th after school. The performance will be on Thursday, February 27th. UPDATED!  We are thrilled to announce the the incredible Trevor Miles will be your masterclass instructor. Trevor has taught multiple workshops for us and always receives RAVE reviews! 

 
TREVOR MILES is from Coos Bay, Oregon and began his dance training at the Pacific School of Dance at age 17, under the direction of Christine Rader and Connie Hogge. He has studied on scholarship at the American Ballet Theater in New York, as well as Milwaukee Ballet in Wisconsin. Miles attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, where he performed works by Ohad Naharin, Pat Hon, and Timothy Lynch. While in Seattle he also danced as a company member with Ashani Dances, under Artistic Director, Iyun Harrison. While in New York he has danced as a member of Ballet Hispanico Dos, Peridance, and most recently has been a guest artist with the Company of Dance Arts. His favorite theater credits include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Oklahoma!, at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater. Recently Trevor was in a production of Let There Be Light at NYSummerfest Theater Festival, where it won the award for Best Play/Musical. Trevor can currently be seen touring the nation with the Hamilton Philip Company.

 

REMINDER! On January 25th, RP Theatre will be hosting a Triple Threat Workshop with a Cast Member from the Broadway smash hit, Hamilton.

This workshop is open to students from all area schools, ages 10-18.
 
Here are the details:
Hamilton Triple Threat Workshop:
  • Saturday, January 25th
  • 8AM-11:30AM
  • Rocket Center for the Arts
  • The workshop will cover: an hour of singing, an hour of dancing, and hour of acting with a 30-minute Q&A/Autograph Session to conclude!

  • $60 per participant
  • Anyone 10-18 years old may attend. Space is limited!!

UPDATED-SHOWCASE AUDITIONS THIS WEEK!  Want to compete for prize money while performing on the Frauenthal Stage? Audition for Showcase!  The dates have been moved back to March this year…fyi with show nights being March 18 and 19. Because of this, we moved the deadline for auditions to Wednesday, Jan. 15th…that’s next week!

REMINDER! 2020-2021 CHOIR PLACEMENTS THIS TRIMESTER! Want to get an early start on your choir audition and music theory exam? Follow the link below for EVERYTHING you will need to get ready!

1. Skill at Sight Reading

2. Skill at Singing

3. Knowledge of Music Theory

4. Your involvement in choir, beyond just coming to class each day.

5. Your work ethic and choir trimester grades.

REMINDER! Attention overseas travelers. As your passports come in, you will need to go back to the Cultural Tour Consultants web page and update your information record, to now include your passport numbers and expiration dates. The company informed me yesterday that we  are still missing a lot of these! While on the site, they have also requested that you check your names to make sure the names you submitted on the original enrollment matches the way the name is spelled on your passport exactly (including middle name). IMPORTANT REMINDER: If you have not yet applied for your passport, you should do so immediately! For further details regarding passports: CLICK HERE!

 

REMINDER! Are you participating in our awesome scrip program? You can raise lots of money doing so and use that money for many things school related. No need to sell or buy anything (just purchase gift cards from us and use them to pay  just about anywhere and watch your kid’s account grow! Below is the most current scip form detailing what businesses have scrip and what percentage they give back to your account.
