Friday, June 10, 2022…It’s the LAST DAY of SCHOOL!!!! HAPPY SUMMER Y’ALL!

REMINDER! From TK,

I’m happy to announce that I will be directing the Penguin Project this year for MCT and No More Sidelines.  We are looking for mentors for our amazing artists to help put on Seussical Jr. September 10 and 11 on the Frauenthal stage!   I was blessed to be involved last year and there is not a more fulfilling project in the theatre.

Rehearsals will generally be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at The Hub @ 640 Seminole Rd. Norton Shores, unless otherwise specified. Rehearsals start promptly at 5:30 pm, again unless otherwise specified. Please arrive 10 minutes early so your child is “ready to go” when rehearsal begins.

Upcoming Important Dates:

Information Meeting for Artists, Mentors, and Families

Saturday, June 11th @ 11:00 am OR Tuesday, June 14th @ 6:00pm

Mentor Bootcamp

Saturday, June 18th 10:00 – 2:00 (Mandatory for all participating Mentors)

A COVID-19 vaccine IS NOT required to participate; however, if you are 16 or older and you are interested you can get a vaccine at the vaccination clinic at 1364 Terrace, Monday thru Friday- 8:30AM-4:30 pm.

Question?  Contact us at penguinproject@muskegoncivictheatre.org

REMINDER! …The results are in! Here’s your next year’s

Pop Go the Sailors Theme!

REMINDER-MUSICAL ANNOUNCEMENT! We were shut down two weeks prior to opening this musical in 2020 due to the pandemic and it was truly heartbreaking. This is such a wonderful show, so after much careful thought and discussion, we have decided to bring MATILDA back again in March 2023! This is a must see for kids and adults of all ages! It’s playful, magical, and very touching. Mark your calendars for March 23, 24, and 25, 2023!

Here’s are two trailers to get a feel for the show:

NEW! There are ZERO more days to wake up and come to school ’cause it’s summer time! You did it! Congratulations!!

SIGN UP NOW!-NYC, 2023! Last week Tuesday, we presented the 2023 NYC Junior/Senior trip itinerary, cost, and payment plan! All the info is available below and you can pick up hard copies in the choir room. First payment is due June 17th, in order to keep the overall monthly payments as low as possible, and so we can secure the Marriott Marquis in the heart of Times Square!

REMINDER! The Chicago Trip for this coming December will be happening and we will take 2 busses so we can take around 100 people! More details this coming fall. The trip will cost approximately $220.

UPDATE-2024 OVERSEAS TOUR UPDATE! Attention this year’s sophomores, freshman (as well as current 7th and 8th grade choir students): We will be again traveling overseas in June of 2024! Planning has not come together as quickly as I had hoped (there is much to do to get a tour like this off the ground!), so we will be kicking off this tour right away in this coming September!

NEW! Today we will begin the process of selecting the Pop Go the Sailors Theme for next spring, 2023!

Don’t just think about the one song you would love to audition and then pick a theme that fits that song!

When thinking of an idea, ponder the following:

What could the set look like?

What sorts of costumes could we use?

What would be a great opening act?

What would be a really nice closing number?

What could each of the four choirs do: Treble, Anchormen, Singers, Acappella?

Don’t just think about the one song you would love to audition and then pick a theme that fits that song!

Are there still even more ideas for cool specialty acts?

Here are some lists you can look through to spark ideas (often, Dance Recital Ideas work well for our Pop Show too!)
