NEW! Showcase audition results will be posted here by the end of the day today.
ADDITIONAL INFO! The maximum time for a Showcase act is 4 minutes. Also, the dates for the workshop are either Monday, February 27 or Saturday, March 4th.
They must attend their assigned performing arts workshop held at the Frauenthal Theater, where performing arts professionals will assist students in developing their performance and perfecting all technical aspects.
They will perform their act on one of the two Showcase nights (to be assigned based on show order and your school’s availability). Show dates are either Wednesday March 15 or Thursday March 16. Each school’s students perform and are introduced on only ONE of the two Showcase nights. But, if you do perform on Wednesday, they sort of expect you to be there for the awards ceremony at the end of the night on Thursday….
Students can pick up a complimentary ticket at the Frauenthal Box Office with photo ID that will allow them to attend the show on the night they do not perform. Prizes will be awarded on the second night of the show – Thursday.
Performing Arts Nominees must be students of the same school and will be judged by a panel of professional actors, producers, and musicians. Solo/duo performances consist of a soloist or a duo. Group performances are three or more students with no more than 15 in the entire group.
If you are in Allegros, and you choose to audition and are selected to represent Mona Shores, you MUST choose to perform on Wednesday, March 15th (you will miss the polish dance night and I talked with Molly already so she knows. We have our first full run through of the Matilda on Thursday so that date won’t work for you!)
Three cash prizes are awarded in Solo/Duo and three cash prizes are awarded in Group – with an additional Showstopper cash prize (seven awards total).
First, second, and third place awards in the performing arts category (both solo/duo and group), visual arts, literary arts, and digital media arts receive cash awards of $1000, $500, and $300, respectively. Also, the winner of the Performing Arts Showstopper award will receive $1000.

Hello All! I’m here tonight to give you an update regarding our 2024 Trip to South Africa and where we stand with our numbers and the possibility of adding interested parents and seniors.
Here is the link to register for the South Africa tour: REGISTER ONLINE AT bookings.wittetravel.com and use booking code 061924LAWT
Note: Each student traveler should select a DOUBLE ROOM. We will work out roommates once the tour sign-ups have slowed down. Adults can choose a SINGLE ROOM at an additional cost. A parent and a student can room together in a Double as well. Also, everyone should also choose ROUNDTRIP TRANSFERS when asked. If you’ve already signed your student up and made the error of signing them up for a single room, we can later adjust that and you will go back to the lower price. We do not want students in single rooms for both safety and student management reasons, unless they are rooming with their parent. You can ignore the TRIP KEY.
