NEW! Choir student Mari Ware (Treble Choir) has started her own business with the help of her Mom. They are making and selling lip gloss. Right now, she has Tropical Punch, Coconut and Pineapple.
They are $5 for large and $3 for small. She has them with her! See her if you want some.
NEW! The deadline for applying to participate in the MSVMA Musical Theater Solo and Ensemble is Wednesday, October 20th! This is an event in which you prepare two musical theater songs and then sing them for a judge who will then give you both written and verbal feedback. Most people that attend this event are taking lessons from a private instructor, who helps them select their pieces and get prepared.
This year’s Musical Theater S & E Festival is on Saturday, Nov. 20th, 2021 at Grand Valley State University. This is also the same day as the MSHS Orchestra’s Fiddle Festival–FYI (don’t double book yourself!).
If you are not planning on auditioning for the musical (or, if you do not make the cast) and you are a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society, this is a requirement for continuing your membership. If you don’t sing at this event, you can also choose the classical version of solo and ensemble, held on Feb. 12, 2022.

REMINDER-NYC TRIP INSURANCE (OPTIONAL)! Attention NYC Travelers: Our Travel Agent, George Gashal from Airport Tour and Travel has now added the Travel Insurance option onto their company’s website at: http://www.airporttourandtravel.com
Just scroll down the website until you see the insurance company section “Trawick” and then click on “Get Quote.”
You need to be careful that they do not select “student” when you are on the page that asks for your age. You just need to put in your age. You also need to select “Yes” on “Trip Protection”.
When they get on the page offering insurance options, you need to scroll down to “Safe Travels Voyager” and then be sure to select “cancel for any reason.”
At the bottom it will say “Buy Now” and you will be able to purchase the insurance.

REMINDER: Footloose (the musical) “season” begins today!
INFORMATIONAL MEETING TODAY (TUES)! The Allegros (Musical) season is about to begin. First up is our informational meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 5th at 3 pm in the choir room. Plan on an hour but it could end earlier than that.
The Allegros (Musical) audition workshop is Monday, Oct. 11th at 3 pm until 4 pm. In the days following the meeting, you will officially sign up to audition.
Allegro vocal auditions are Sunday, Oct. 17th, beginning at 1 pm. Times to be scheduled after the Allegros workshop.
Allegros dance callbacks are on Tuesday, Oct. 19th and following our dinner break, we will begin callbacks for leading roles.
Lastly, continued final callbacks are on Wednesday, Oct. 20th.
REMINDER! The following is a list of who we have a record of paying for shoes either this year or last year. These are the ONLY people that we will be fitting and ordering NEW shoes for…if you DO NOT see yourself on this list, it means we think you HAVE choir shoes already, either because you were in choir previously and your shoes still fit, or you picked up some shoes from our collection of used shoes. If you think we’ve made an error, speak up!

No need to sell or buy anything (just purchase gift cards from us and use them to pay your tabs just about anywhere and watch your kid’s account grow! Below is the most current scip form detailing what businesses have scrip and what percentage they give back to your account.
YOU CAN NOW PURCHASE SCRIP ONLINE! You can NOW purchase your choir e-scrip ONLINE. Here are the details: Anyone interested in buying e-gift cards and paying online can set up an online account at: https://www.shopwithscrip.com/. You will need a code to register for the choir scrip program, which you must request from the MSCA (this is new information!). You can either link to a checking or savings account for automatic payments, or you can use a credit card at check out when shopping online. A $0.15 fee is added to your order total each time you pay with your linked checking or savings account, or a 2.6% fee is added to your order total each time you pay with a credit card. Either way, the choir will still receive 1.5 percent of the percent earned for both the expenses of keeping the scrip program going and as a part of our fundraising efforts. You can then either receive your e-scrip online instantly, using your cell phone (you will need to download the app, RaiseRight by ShopWithScrip). You can only purchase e-cards (and pay online) through this website (no paper gift cards or local places that may not be participating in the online platform).
