NEW! Your FlipGrid Assignments are now posted in your Google Classrooms. Look in the “Assignments” section there and you will find it.
The title is: Oct. 31, 2022: Flipgrid “Gloria” for Treble and Anchormen and “Oct. 31, 2022: Flipgrid “Jingle Bells” for Singers and Acappella.
Gloria starts on page 3 and is the whole song. Jingle Bells starts on page 31 and is the whole song. The assignment has been posted to your Google Classroom and the FlipGrid is up!
You MUST again sing the words/lyrics, not the solfeggio.
You MUST sing with the music in the background. Either just the accompaniment (+5% on your grade), or with JaiLynn singing your part (no penalty for making this choir, but no extra credit either). Make certain you are louder than the track!
Most people either open a second tab with the choir blog recordings (go to choir.monsahores.net and on the right hand side of the blog, find PAGES. Then, scroll down to “Tree 2022 Rehearsal Materials” and follow that link to play the music. Other people will use their phone to either play the music or record their FlipGrip, while using their Chromebook for the opposite.
All the details are in your Google Classroom and in your FlipGrid.
This assignment is due Friday, November 4th, by 11:59pm.
ALSO, we will be doing another LYRICS QUIZ this week Friday over the following two songs in addition to the Flipgrids:
These Bells Will Ring
The First Noel

REMINDER-SOUTH AFRICA! Mona Shores High School Choir is Traveling to SOUTH AFRICA in June 2024!
I have been busily working behind the scenes for the past year, planning the choir’s next big international adventure! As you may know, the Mona Shores high school choir has a history of International Travel dating back to the 1960’s. We travel overseas every four years.
Our next trip will be in June 2024 (after school is let out for summer) will be to South Africa! This is extremely exciting destination and will be absolutely life changing for every single student (and parent) that attends! We will be visiting the southernmost coastal region, also known as the “Garden Coast” region.
We couldn’t contain ourselves today (Friday) and decided to share this news with our top two choirs–Singers and Acappella. The Treble Choir and Anchormen will learn about this exciting destination on Monday so try and keep it a bit of a secret for them!
We will have a formal evening meeting to be announced very soon, in which we will bring in our travel company and share all of the details with you such as where exactly we are going, costs, payment schedule, itinerary, etc.
I will say kids are going to have truly remarkable experiences such as going on a safari, staying in luxury tents overnight on the safari’s property, visiting an elephant sanctuary, a penguin colony, an ostrich farm, as well as sharing concerts and meals with local choirs, doing a service project in a school, attending cultural experience styled shows, trying new foods, seeing the Robben Island prison-and the cell where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, learning about apartheid and much more!
We shared the following highlights video of the Notre Dame Band’s trip there and our experience will be very similar. Please enjoy!
More news and details coming soon!
