NEW! Hello! This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; the 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7pm; is the Players’ production of The Curious Savage! Considering seeing the show and supporting fellow choir members Soph Anderson-Gillette, Emily Drost, Catherine Conrad, Cambell Robinson, Percy Haynes, Symphony Jones, and DJ Bell. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults and all performances are held in the Mona Shores High School Auditorium.

Show synopsis: The Curious Savage is the story of an elderly widow named Mrs. Ethel P. Savage, whose deceased husband has left her ten million dollars. She intends to give the entire fortune away to people who wish to pursue their “foolish dreams,” but her stepchildren strongly object. To prevent her from doing away with their family’s wealth and ruining their legacy, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters, and it is among the gentle residents there that she finds her true family. The Curious Savage is a warm comedy that compares the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the greed and hostility of so-called “normal people.”

REMINDER! Hi lovely choir people! My name is Rory Ponce and I’m a junior in singers. My aunt is in need of carolers for Muskegon GLOW on Saturday, November 26th, and we’re thinking of having “shifts” with at least 2 people from each vocal part per shift. If you’re in NHS and/or Tri-M, it WILL count as volunteer hours. The first shift will begin at 5:30pm.

NEW INFO: Lakeshore Legacy Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that aims to mitigate the income inequality divide in Western Michigan through immersive and community-building events. In particular, we strive to offer people of all ages the chance to experience life-enriching events stigma-free. Holidays in the City is a collaborative group with Downtown Muskegon that plans the Glow event.

Caroler groups are requested from 2-5 PM in one hour shifts in or near the following areas:

  • Hackley Park
  • Olthoff Stage
  • Social Sandbox

The ceremony for the tree lighting in Hackley Park starts at 5:30. After the event, the crowd is invited to see the light up of Western Avenue. Anyone who wants to stay through the event and sing as Western is lit up may join together in one carol.
