Here is a sheet with all of the information (and links) for how we go about making these decisions. The information is also all here on the choir blog (below):
There are five components to your placement in choir. They are: Singing (observed in two ways), Sight Reading, Involvement, Work Ethic, and Music Theory Knowledge.
SINGING-30 SECOND SONG
For the “30 second song”, pick any song, from any kind of music and sing it. You may sing acappella or use a karaoke track If you do use a track, make certain the balance is good. We want to hear your voice, not the accompaniment track.
You will record this singing audition using FlipGrid. Choose the voice part below based upon what you will sing for the “Amens” audition below.

This score is calculated by a combination of your first and second trimester grades along with our assessment of your ability to work hard, stay focused and sing with energy and passion on a day to day basis.
We will take a music theory test at the end of the second trimester and we will also take into account your music theory scores average from your in class assignments during this second trimester. This averaged together become your music theory overall score.
