NEW! Want to study private voice (FOR FREE) or lower the cost of a summer music camp next year? It’s super easy this year to apply (no outside audition required)! Just fill out the form below, indicating your interest. The music staff will then select the candidates with the best fit.
We are looking for enthusiastic students who have a desire to grow as singers and who we believe will work hard! If you receive a scholarship, you will be required to attend either musical theater or classical MSVMA Solo and Ensemble. But that’s cool though, as you can get additional feedback! The deadline to apply is by Saturday at midnight!
NEW! Congratulations to these outstanding MSHS Performers for their placement at the West Michigan Student Showcase last night:
Showstopper Award (wins $1,000): Matt Yacoub performing “Piano Man”
1st Place in the Group Category (wins $1,000): The Quarter Notes-Jess Lawton, Mia Newman, Rebecca Powell and Laura Schluentz, singing, Light In The Hallway.
Also, JaiLynn Petrie accompanied the 1st place solo category act!

NEW! After much searching and discussion we decided to forgo having our annual choir banquet this year. The Muskegon Country Club is currently closed and we searched for other venues, but we just aren’t in a place where we can feed 160 people gathered together, as well as have a DJ and a dance, at this time. And we didn’t want to try and create some sort of replacement, only to have it fall flat in comparison.

NEW! The rally now has an official logo (above), created by Alivia Miller.

REMINDER: You have probably heard this over and over: Today, America has become so divided. After a year like this one with tragic events after another, after issues rising, and after social injustices spreading, it is easy to feel alone and isolated. We are all stronger together. Let’s all band together to not only support each other, but to show that as citizens and people, we do not tolerate injustices and inequality any longer. We are no longer isolated and our voices will be heard. We will band together for one another.

Hi! I’m Lauryn Jackson and I am a senior in the class of 2021. I am passionate about music as well as activism. I am hoping to hold a protest this summer focused on racial inequality and injustices. For this, I will need to raise at least $500 to rent out Hackley park and its stage, as well as other things like sound equipment and snacks and water; I also need minority speakers to speak or even perform at the event, and recommendations for renting sound equipment. My personal email is L.d.jack72@gmail.com and the place to donate for now is below.

NEW! Venmo: They will be using Savanna Donahue’s Venmo, which is: Savanna-Donahue

Paypal: paypal.me/Laurjackson72

(Look I’m trying- it might take a bit)

Even if you cannot contribute now, please send me any ideas, period, or just attend the event itself. Thank you for supporting!
