NEW!! The middle school musical, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” opens this week Thursday and will also play on Friday and Saturday nights. Cost is $6. The show is in the middle school auditorium and it starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the door. It is a really good show!!!

LAST DAY!! Lost and found. Mr. Snell has been cleaning (THANK YOU!!). We have found a number of things, including old plates, containers (from the fall meeting), left over clothing from events like Allegretto Notte, etc. Claim it soon or we will be giving it away!

COLLAGE/SHOWCASE:

NEW!! Tickets are now available. They are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Checks can be made payable to, “Mona Shores Choir”. Tickets can be purchased in the choir office (Rm. 203) or at Meyer Music and Pic-N-Pac.

UPDATED!! Collage rehearsal will be on the 1/2 day, Friday, February 8th. The school day ends at 10:40am that day and rehearsal will be following. We will begin at 10:50am with “O Fortuna” and then go through the remainder of the program, beginning with Act 2.

The Collage Concert is coming up quickly. The date is Sunday, February 10th at 3pm in the MSHS Performing Arts Center (PAC). This is a really unique concert that features not only all of our choir students but the top performers in the choir, band and orchestra, chosen by audition. Their is no applause between numbers as the we move swiftly from one number to the next.

We started our Cheesecake sale this past Wednesday. Here are the details:

The sale began last week Wednesday and will last until THIS Friday, Feb. 1st. The cheesecakes will be delivered to the high school on Tuesday, Feb. 12th (just in time for Valentine’s Day!).

They are restaurant quality cheesecakes, weighing approximately 4 lbs. and are presliced into 14 restaurant size portions. They are less expensive than any bakery or restaurant:

There are 14 delectable flavors to choose from, including a Variety which features 7 different flavors, two slices of each.

Thawed cheesecakes can be frozen more than once. Shelf life in the refrigerator is 5 days. They can be frozen for up to 6 months.

The Cheesecakes are delivered frozen from the Chicago, Il. area (Gormet’s Delight, Inc.) and are made with the highest quality, freshest available natural ingredients with no preservatives added.

Incentives include:

Sell the most cheesecakes in your choir class and receive $25 cash. (4 choirs at $25 per choir).

Also, anyone who sells 4 cheesecakes will have their name put in a drawing (every additional 4 cakes sold–your name will go in again.) We will draw 3 names and give away $50, $50 and $100 cash to three lucky winners!

NEW!! “…Of Earthly Things” Lyric Sheets: Are now posted on the blog under “Pages” on the right. Use these and the blog music to help you learn/memorize your pieces. Special THANKS to Maggie Barnard for taking her time to type up every one of these lyric sheets. It was a ton of work and she volunteered to do it.

We started our Cheesecake sale this past Wednesday. Here are the details:

The sale began Wednesday and will last until Friday, Feb. 1st. The cheesecakes will be delivered to the high school on Tuesday, Feb. 12th (just in time for Valentine’s Day!).

They are restaurant quality cheesecakes, weighing approximately 4 lbs. and are presliced into 14 restaurant size portions. They are less expensive than any bakery or restaurant:

There are 14 delectable flavors to choose from, including a Variety which features 7 different flavors, two slices of each.

Thawed cheesecakes can be frozen more than once. Shelf life in the refrigerator is 5 days. They can be frozen for up to 6 months.

The Cheesecakes are delivered frozen from the Chicago, Il. area (Gormet’s Delight, Inc.) and are made with the highest quality, freshest available natural ingredients with no preservatives added.

Incentives include:

Sell the most cheesecakes in your choir class and receive $25 cash. (4 choirs at $25 per choir).

Also, anyone who sells 4 cheesecakes will have their name put in a drawing (every additional 4 cakes sold–your name will go in again.) We will draw 3 names and give away $50, $50 and $100 cash to three lucky winners!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Brazil Passports needed NOW! If you did not bring it in on time (by Thursday) we must have it ASAP. Bring them in on Monday (AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST) and we will make a copy of it and give it back to you. The airline needs this info. ASAP. If you have a parent going, we need their passport as well.

COLLAGE/SHOWCASE AUDITIONS:

NEW!! The Collage and Showcase audition results have been posted on the bulletin board in the choir hallway (right outside the choir room doors). Congratulations to all!!!

The Collage Concert is coming up quickly. The date is Sunday, February 10th at 3pm in the MSHS Performing Arts Center (PAC). This is a really unique concert that features not only all of our choir students but the top performers in the choir, band and orchestra, chosen by audition. Their is no applause between numbers as the we move swiftly from one number to the next.

As usual, we began the day with a series of warm-ups followed by a sight-singing exercise. We have 21 different days of warm-ups (4 different warm-ups each day) and each of the choirs is singing from a different level of difficulty sight reading book.

NEW!! Outstanding Job to all the participants! And to the Allegros, you were simply amazing yesterday. From the bottom of my heart, you all made me gush with pride!! Jill and her “A crew” did an outstanding job organizing the event this year. The choreography was awesome. The workshops were really fun. And all of you really shared your energy and love of music and people with others. Everyone had a blast!!!! I am really, really proud of you!!

FROSTY OASIS FUND RAISER:

NEW!! Was a huge success….in fact, we ran out of ice cream by about 6:15pm!!!! Yipee!! Thanks to all of the students and parents that volunteered their time and energy to make this 1st time event a success. Great job everybody. We make around $1,300 on this event!!
